How can I sync an iPod without removing the Music

If the computer is locked, if you bought a new computer or your iPod to the computer of his friend, the iPod is synced with another version of iTunes that is used to add music to your iPod. When this happens, all the music in particular that the iPod is automatically deleted. This can be annoying, regardless of the number of songs on the iPod. However, by the use of computer with iTunes, you can sync an iPod without erasing music on the iPod.

Instructions :

  1. Start by clicking “Start” in the taskbar and open “My Computer”. Click on “Tools”. Select “Folder Options”. Then click the “View” tab. Scroll through the list in the middle of the window to your “hidden files and folders.” Click this option and click “OK”. Keep my computer open.
  2. Connect the iPod to sync with your computer. Open iTunes.
  3. Click your iPod icon on the left side of iTunes. A box will appear asking you to sync the iPod. Leave this box without clicking “Yes” or music on the iPod will be deleted.
  4. Click “Enable disk use” in the bottom of the iTunes screen.
  5. Go to My Computer. You see the name of your iPod and an icon for the device in “Devices with Removable Storage”.
  6. Double-click the iPod icon in My Computer.
  7. Open the “iPod_Control” folder and open the Music folder.
  8. Highlight and select any of the folders in the Music folder. Then copy each of these folders.
  9. Paste all the folders that you copied in the previous step to your desktop. You can then minimize the window of the computer.
  10. Click on “File” in iTunes. Select the “Add Folder to Library.” Select a folder to the desktop to hit. The numbers in the folder are added to the iTunes library. Do this for each folder you stuck on your desktop.
  11. Disconnect the iPod from your computer. Wait about 10 seconds and reconnect the iPod. If the message asking whether you want the iPod to sync again, click “Yes” to the iPod to sync. Otherwise, continue to the next step.
  12. Click on “File”. Select “Sync iPod”. The iPod will not sync music to be removed from the device.

Tips & Warnings :

  • This procedure does not work with the iPod Touch.
